[It's not exactly unusual to find one of the holodecks occupied. While they may have been par for the course for some of the station's occupants, they were certainly a novelty for others. Whatever the reason, there was usually someone looking for something that they couldn't get anywhere else on the station

He wasn't exactly sure what it was he'd come here for in the first place. Companionship sounded kind of cheesy and anything else he could think of was just a blatant lie, so he went with the next best thing. ]

That was until the incident with the Narada. Since then there were a few new moods added to the mix that she dare not question unless she was certain the it wouldn't just make things worse. After a while, though, she knew not prying would just make it all worse. Still, she didn't think he'd end up in a holosimulation of Vulcan ( ... )

Maybe it was just the game that this place enjoyed playing. Perhaps it wasn't so benevolent as it seemed.
He raised his head at the sound of her voice and just stared for a few moments before he fought back the demons long enough to stand, straightening his uniform and brushing sand from it.]

But then he reacted. His eyes deceived them as they always did and she saw a flicker of something. She wasn't really sure what it was and probably should have disregarded it but it made her want to turn and run out of the cave or call up the arch and exit the holodeck. The warm desert arm between them was feeling a little less like home. ]
Not exactly. I was just... curious. I saw the holodeck was occupied and haven't been in one this advance before. You seem busy though, I'll go.
[ She tried to maintain that air of composure as she nodded to him and turned to exit the cave. ]

Obviously, he would need to change the approaches he had been using if he really wanted her to stay. Even if the logical thing to do would be to retreat, run away and hide, prevent the pain that would doubtless be the result of any effort on his part. At least pain was something. At least it wasn't empty.
He had to snatch at the offering quickly, though, before it vanished, even if it meant that subtle tone in his voice that gave away how desperately he needed her to stay.]
Not so busy. I have merely been contemplating...certain events.
