Gave up on a best/worst of the year. Haven't really been up and running long enough for that. And December can be written off as holiday madness. But it's the end of the month, and I've been on top of things. So NEWAY, here's the Worst of the Month.

Ow. Really. I found this lucky journal with the interest search. For layout rating. I almost feel retarded trying to review this, as I was hoping to find layouts that could actually use some help, but it's a lot harder than you'd think finding people who tried and failed. But the show must go on. SO things I would change:
The grammar and spelling are atrocious. Try dictionary.com or install google's toolbar with handy spell-check feature.
Horizontal scroll bar. That's a big no-no. simple enough to fix, too. Just put:
body {
overflow-x: hidden;
overflow:-moz-scrollbars-vertical;
}
in your GLOBAL_HEAD (merge it with your body tag) to fix that.
The colors do NOT work. The thick double lines surrounding the entries can be discarded. Definitely change the background to something.. not horrible. And get rid of the red dots inside of the thick double hot pink lines, and from around the mood stamp.
Custom scroll bars are a priveledge, not a right. They should be used sparingly, if at all. I've seen some people really tie a layout together with custom scroll bars, but in this case? Not so much.
Visit everything_lj and do some mandatory reading. Everyone can do this, and you can do better.

What can I say? This layout makes me hot. It very busy, it has a lot going on, but it flows really well, so it works. The colors contrast just enough without being overpowering. Almost everyone can agree that Zelda is a classic, and you don't see a lot of layouts giving it due props.
The sidebar. Is. Awesome. Both of them, really. The small details really set off the busy feel, and the details in the little rollovers are cute. Nice, nice attention to details here. I like the contact info a lot, and the second sidebar featuring favorites and things was done really well. Nice images there.
The entries themselves are clean and feel very organized. Maybe that's what it is about this layout that I adore, it's busy, but organized. I absolutely love it, fantastic job.
