Anti-Depressants

Going off an anti depressant cold turkey is risky business. I've been taking zoloft for a year now and I'm greatly appreciating the benefits. I've had depression for decades, but I tried to cover it up with this happy go lucky attitude and confidence. In the end I had only myself to answer to and I still hated myself and had massive amounts of guilt and anxiety that people would find out I was a big fake and not like who I really am. Being on the meds has helped me be a better mom and wife, I'm not screaming and flipping out over dumb shit anymore, but I'm also not an unemotional automaton. You do what's best for you. Maybe you might be over it, like Divina said, and not need them anymore. I will suggest you try therapy, just so that your therapist can monitor you so that you don't end up in the hospital again.

It must be a great feeling to not need meds and just be ok being you! :)

Actually today I realized I think I need to be back them again. As you said, going off an anti-depressant cold turkey is risky business. I've been feeling dizzy and light-headed, but that may not be from being off the anti-depressant. While at work today I felt really overwhelmed and stressed when I am usually calm and under control.
