because if this was about the book, this entry would've been way way looooonger. LOL

Believe me I tried my best to resist the urge to do this post.

Buuuuuttttttt! Because Saturdays are fulfilling-the-family-duties-and-errands-kinda-day for me, meaning all I have to do is while away the time by making sure all the people (especially the gremlins) ( Read more... )

I agree that the Bella-Edward love story didn't develop well as much as the book. The film is totally made just for the fans of the books, and so I think that non-readers will definitely not appreciate it. Some details were left hanging, and only readers can get it. Everything was so rushed that I hated it when it just ended like that. I was waiting for more ( ... )

I appreciate the effort of adding more scenes like the Italian-cooking Cullens and Alice's entrance from the tree, the killings of "animals" just to make the story a more vampiric suspense feel, and the fight scene which Bella wasn't able to see in the book. Too bad there was no mention about Alice's history with James, for that would have been exciting because the film makers decided to make Alice behead him. Hmm that would have been a sweet revenge. Charlie was portrayed well, especially with his constant reliance on pepper spray and the rifle-"bring-him-in" scene. The Cullens' entrance in the cafeteria was really cute as the background music and the slow-motion made them appear so graceful and angelic as I had imagined them in the book. The nomads' entrance in the field was also cool along with the background music. For a minute there I wanted to join them in their version of a runway. I love the scene when Edward brought Bella to school with his Volvo with his shades and crooked smile plus the cool song then placed his arm over ( ... )

IMO, the movie isn't that bad. but as usual movie tie-ups (with books) often fails. I love the blank edward stares and flashes of kate beckinsale and alicia silverstone in Bella's face.

things I noticed :

Make ups seemed so amateur. i dunno if its just me but really the beautician at our "kanto" is way better than their make up artist.

got to agree about carlisle's first appearance, it made me go "oh man that's a giveaway, that hairdo is so transylvanic" . that goes for the rest of their clan, with the exception of edward.

what the heck is wrong with bella and edward in the movie? they seemed constipated when they talk?!

every other people except jessica acts "normal"every one else seems to have a mediocre i-lost-my-brother soap opera dramatization going on.

last one... Soundtracks are awful!!! Mannnnnnnnnn!!! they bored me to tears.

but all in all, it's still a watchable movie a guy who will bring a chick of age 16 see to this movie will still have the chance to get laid. LOL

hmn, in contrary, i liked the soundtrack. especially iron&wine (the one who sang the prom song), which was a favorite, and the black ghosts (who sang full moon, the song of bella's departure from phoenix). +) i actually ended up downloading the entire soundtrack the next day, plus the entire discography of iron%wine. hehe.
