A text my friend sent me: "Have I ever told you that you remind me of Bernadette Peters?"

I teach at a middle school. One day I was walking to my car and I found this note from a mom to her kid. It made me smile.

Mom:  "Are you making anything else besides the stuffing for Thanksgiving? A dessert?"
Me: "Yeah, apple pie."
Mom: "YESSSSSS!"
Step-pops: "Oh, my sister is bringing apple and coconut pies."
Me:  "Oh, then, maybe not?  Too much pie?"
Mom: "Nonono, don't worry.  An apple pie like THAT will NOT go to waste!"
