So we've dealt with the author who demanded a certain number of Kudos before she'd post the next chapter of her fic in my fandom.  Now comes an author who says, even if you don't read her fic, "Please leave Kudos

Sadly, it's not just in fandom this kind of thing happens. That's the way of things today :-(

I truly don't understand the value in getting Kudos that way. I mean, sure, prospective readers will see a higher Kudos count, but how can you really feel you've accomplished anything that way? And if the fic is bad and readers were suckered into reading it because of all those Kudos? I know I've read some fics that have made me wonder what the readers were smoking who Kudo'd it! :-/
