I have spent the better part of these last three months in self-doubt. Wandering the hallways of my school, I'm back in that awkward 6-8th grade phase--no better than the kids I teach. I can sense their discomfort and frustration. I am the brunt of these emotional hurricanes. Their friends are precious to them, even though they are cruel. I stand ( Read more... )

is that you do understand, remember what they're going through. Those years are hard, how lucky are they to have an adult who isn't going to belittle what they must endure?

"Students have been asking me, 'will you be here next year?'" - good to hear that you're inscribing a place in their hearts. Not in the least surprised, myself. Leave the future up to itself, when the time comes to make the decision, you'll know what to do.

Don't worry, it all works out. It's stressful, but somehow you get through everything. You are more than capable, and you'll do brilliantly.

thanks dear. All the encouragement helps. As the psych guy said today during our first meeting: it's going to be fine. You need to remember to reach out to people because that's how you thrive. I miss you sarah, how in the hell are you??
