re: postsecret, totally. who cares about casie's brush with suicide? i want actual for real secrets, here.

i always listen to nina on the train. i used to listen to woody guthrie but he made me so exuberant that my fellow passengers became worried and avoided me. no one sits next to the dancing girl on the 6:30 wolverine express.

mostly, i was upset that that upside-down girl's subject was still saving her. got it. and dad still hates his son for being gay. and fatty is too scared to tell jenny s/he's in love with her. been there, buddy, done that. i want to hear about cybersex with dad, come on!

hahahahaha, there's no appropriate response for guthrie exuberance on trains because that's an amazing observation.

that natasha, just one brillient song after another...

if only she could spell things like 'brilliant' without having to use spell check.

it's a little shameful how much I love that poem. It's one of the few things i've memorized all the words too. that and "silver apples of the moon"

and of loving people and songs and things so much it makes your stomach hurt,

1. Nina Simone: Break Down & Let It All Out, By Sylvia Hampton with David Nathan.
this is a must-read. for life.

2. Bright Eyes: Letting off the Happiness - i'm putting this cd in my pocket and waiting for february.

3. I spend a lot of time on my balcony listening to nina simone and tryign to remember my former self. I love her. I'd have her children.

have you read her autobioography? it's remarkable. reading about her life and listening to her on this one fall train ride home from MI was one of the most vivd atmospheric memories i have.

i had no idea that there was another bio of her out. there's a new one coming soon as well.

what a motherfucking woman. that goes for you as well.
