I've always enjoyed the company of
.
Draco Malfoy hwl: Draco stood up from the desk and
began to peruse the stacks of books that lined the walls of
the common room. He felt they weren't really there for the
students use, but merely a means of insulation. Either way,
they were rarely read and the room was always bitterly
damp and cold. He found the one he was looking for and
returned, flipping it open to the page on obscuring spells.
He had a plan and he knew this may be his only chance at
keeping up his visits with Harry.
Theodore hwl: Walking into the common room,
Theo came upon Draco, doing... something. He
wasn't sure what. Running a hand through his hair,
he went over. He had a feeling Draco and Daph
had already talked. "Draco," he said,
acknowledging the blonde haired boy.
Draco Malfoy hwl: Draco was lost in the large tomb
when he heard his name. He looked up, seeing Theodore
and he nodded, "Nott. I believe Daphne was looking for
you." He looked down, again, into the book.
Theodore hwl: Theo shook his head, flopping onto
the couch. "I was actually looking for her. She was
in the common room when I left her here and now
that you're here, she's mysteriously disappeared."
He smirked. "You chase her off or something?" he
asked in a joking tone.
Draco Malfoy hwl: Draco looked up and seeing the
smirk he returned it. "Must be my charm. I seem to be having
that affect on people lately." He put down his quill and
rubbed the palms of his hands into his eyes. "Years I've
tried to be the most obnoxious guy around, then I gave up.
Now, without trying, everyone seems to dislike me. Ah well,
so is the way of life." He leaned back in his chair and
rested his hands behind his neck. "Haven't seen you
around in awhile so that means you may still be outside my
hate radar." He gave Nott a half smile.
Theodore hwl: Theo half chuckled. "Must be. I
think it's just natural now, you being a jerk has
worked it's way into your system and now you do it
without even knowing it." He ran another hand
through his hair, such was his habit. "I've been
around...just not as around as I'd like to be, but I'm
back now." He studied Draco with slightly
narrowed eyes. "So how's Daphne?" he asked
casually. "She was..." he didn't want to say the
wrong thing now. "She was pretty down when I
found her today." Down on the floor, sobbing her
heart out. My poor girl. "She's got it in her head
that she's some kind of whore." He sat back and
looked to Draco for his opinion on the matter. He
just wanted to know what he would say about that.
Draco Malfoy hwl: Draco snorted, "She's as much of a
whore as I am. It comes with being a Slytherin, all the
misnomers. She is just feeling sorry for herself. I honestly
can't be arsed to care." He then shot Nott a smirk, "Guess
you're right about the jerk thing. Go me!" He lifted his quill,
twirling it in his fingers. "I don't think she's a whore, that is
the least of her issues. She's quick to tell secrets and
seems to have a penchant for disrupting lives, but whore,
nah."
Theodore hwl: Theo folded his arms with an
expressionless face. "Ah well, it's true, everyone's
a bit whore-ish here. But she's just not used to this.
It's all new to her, all the drama going on and when
she can't handle something, she just kind of goes a
bit crazy and does abnormal stuff." Theo smirked
again. "At least you admit it. Now, have you seen
Pansy around? I have yet to speak with her... and
Zabini, haven't seen him in a while either."
Draco Malfoy hwl: Draco smirked again, "Miss
Parkinson and I aren't speaking, currently. Refer back to
my last comment." He closed his eyes and pictures Blaise's
face and with a soft sigh he added, "I haven't seen Zabini
around for a bit. I actually ended up owling him today,
hoping I get some contact with the ruddy Italian." He
glanced down at his paper and then up at Nott. He raised
an eyebrow. "Would you be interested in helping the
younger students with me? I want to keep them protected
from the other houses in case flashes of Death Eater
Brat discrimination begins breaking out." He then quickly
added, "Moreso then the norm."
Theodore hwl: "Ah... because of Daphne. I'll talk to
her about that. Did she run out of here in a fit of
emotional sorrow when she found out about that?"
He knew Daphne a little too well and knew she was
probably in the Room of Requirement, playing the
piano or something and crying, which was actually
pretty abnormal. She never showed emotion when
she cried. The only evidence was the tears coming
down her face, but this afternoon he had found her
sobbing and he had found the answer as to why she
was this upset. "Zabini tends to drift off sometimes.
But," he looked at the paper Draco had looked
down at, "I will help you with that. The
upperclassmen of Slytherin need to protect the
younger ones." He raised an eyebrow. "This is
unusual for Draco Malfoy. When did this
transformation happen?"
Draco Malfoy hwl: He raised an eyebrow.
"Transformation? This is about house loyalty and
protecting our kind. We have a way of life that should be
maintained. I don't want to see ours hurt. This has always
been here, I've just been on my own trip down pity lane. I got
sick of it there so I came back." He glanced down at both
sheets of parchment and absently hid the one below the
other. He wasn't in the mood to explain his research on
certain charms. He then replied to his first question, "Yes, I
thought she would have known the consequences of her
actions. But apparently she was shocked to know that
Parkinson has disowned me as an honorary...whatever it is
that I was." He'd always believed it to be brother, but
evidently Pansy had wanted more. He felt horrid, but he
could never give her that, and he'd have given her the world.
Theodore hwl: "Well I've just never seen you take
charge like this. You were always knee deep in the
drama from what I saw. Fortunately I managed to
keep out of it for a while. I have a feeling that
Daphne's gonna get me involved in something." He
ran a hand through his hair. "This is something I've
been hoping wouldn't happen, but getting involved
with Daph has brought me into her mess." He
picked up the first parchment and studyed it,
missing the parchment underneath it. "Well, as I
said before, when faced with crisis, Daphne doesn't
do well. Which is why I'd never throw her into a
situation before letting her think it out beforehand.
And disowned you? I never thought she'd do that.
You two have always been close. I always saw you
two as kind of a brother and sister. But basically
she ended your friendship when Daphne told her
that you two had sex, right?" He shook his head,
putting a hand to his forehead. Daphne had caused
more trouble then she realized.
Draco Malfoy hwl: Draco had forgotten that there was a
reason he liked Theodore, he always tried to stay neutral.
"These girls are always trying to keep the drama fresh. I
enjoy it, but even I have to stand back and just shudder."
He then frowned slightly, "Yes, I am dramatic, but I wouldn't
say I'm that bad. Besides, what can you expect from Lucius
Malfoy's son. He's one of the biggest drama queens
around." He wanted to add, thank Merlin for Azkaban and
my sudden realization that I don't want to be my daddy when
I grow up. But he held his tongue. Then sadly he spoke,
"Yes, we grew up together. She's almost like a twin to me.
I'm really trying not to think about it, if I do I may not be able
to breathe." He pinched the bridge of his nose again, his
temples throbbing a tribal rythm.
Theodore hwl: He nodded. "I understand. Daph and
I grew up together and stopped talking at
Hogwarts. We just started talking this year, which
is sad since we've known each other for... probably
all our lives." Theo chuckled. "Girls feed off
drama. C'mon Draco, you should know, that they
love it. I mean, Daphne and Pansy, ex best friends,
caused drama for the other when they both found
out they they both were in love with Zabini." He sat
back. "If only I had the magnetism to draw both
Daphne and Pansy. Zabini has a gift." He looked
over at Draco. "Well there's always a
disadvantage of being a son of a deatheater," Theo
said thoughtfully.
Draco Malfoy hwl: Yes, he thought, everyone wants
Blaise. He held his tongue, instead he just nodded. "True,
Pansy is always one for making more out of a situation. I
know I'm far from innocent in the situation, I hope she got
that from our conversation. I had only hoped she'd be able
to keep her tongue." He picked up his papers and tucked
them into his book. He'd work on it later, he couldn't be
arsed at the moment. "I agree, when you are a Death
Eaters son, you get to do cool things like witness Muggles
being tortured and jolly fun things like that. Makes me want
to rush out and join the proud masses of ..." he stopped
himself. He wasn't sure if he could be so verbal around
Nott. He didn't exactly know if the young man would run
and tell his family that Malfoy was a turncoat. He couldn't
take that chance. Instead he made a joke. "...run out and
find me a Muggle to bait."
Theodore hwl: "Well I just think that's a bit
abnormal that Daph went and just told everyone
like that. The only way she tells is if someone just
plain out asks her. She doesn't just randomnly
spout out information." He rubbed the back of his
head, handing Draco the last paper he had been
looking at. "Tons of fun," he said, a smirk on his
face. "I especially love the expressions on their
faces," he said with fake glee. Masses of what?
"Yes, it's simply delightful making the Muggles
squeal," Theo said with a hint of sarcasm in his
voice.
Draco Malfoy hwl: Draco agreed, it was unlike Daphne
to just tell like that. "Honestly, I don't know why she did it. I
can't imagine I'm that wonderous of a conquest. I'm more
impressed with myself for gaining her favour. She is a
good girl, thick at times, but good." He looked into
Theodore's face, his own open and honest. "I wouldn't
have hurt her, you know that. I would have kept this to
myself to the grave. As it should have stayed. I only wish I
knew why." He took a deep breath and stretched back in
his chair again. "Yes, squealing Muggles, " he had caught the
sarcasm and fished some more. "Can't live with them, can't
openly torture them in the streets." He smirked and shot him
a wink, showing that he too was being utterly sarcastic.
Theodore hwl: Theo thought on this for a second.
"Probably her concious. Daphne isn't pure evil. She
feels extremely guilty about many things." He
tapped his foot on the floor. "Were you a virgin?"
he asked bluntly. He really wasn't one for beating
around the bush. "Well, I just hope you two repair
your friendship. She always spoke so highly of
you." With a nod, he propped one foot on the table
in front of him. He looked Draco in the eye. "I
know. I think you honestly need to talk to her. She
will feel guilty until you two properly duke it out.
Personally though Malfoy, you hurt her and well
I'm going to have to hurt you. It's my duty to say
that." Examining his shoes, he rubbed a smudge
out on them. "Mind if I get comfortable? These
robes get a bit stuffy at times."
Draco Malfoy hwl: He waved his hand distractedly, "Be
my guest." He thought of his words. "I wanted to duke it out
with her, I was prepared to completely unload, but she just
sat there, taking. I know Daphne isn't evil, but she usually
fights better then that." He had to admit it was odd of her.
"Though, I think we are all out of luck on Pansy and I. I think
this goes beyond a simple matter of you knocked down my
sandcastle. She feels like I betrayed her, and as silly as
that seems, you just cannot talk to that woman once she puts
her bloody mind to something." He smirked, "I would call
you a crap friend if you didn't properly threaten me. I'd still
hex anyone that hurts Pansy, even if she wants nothing to
do with me."
Theodore hwl: Theo nodded his thanks and shed
himself of the accursed robe, loosening his green
and silver tie and throwing it off. Standing up, he
untucked his shirt and stretched, showing a hint of
his muscled abdomen. He sat back down on the
couch, relaxing. "Finally, out of those accursed
objects." He thought on Draco's words. "I figured
you would, which is what I thought would happen,
but seeing her in the state I found her this
afternoon, which was heartbreaking, I figured she'd
just take it." He rolled up his sleeves, rubbing his
semi muscled arms. "So, you think you and Pansy
are unrepairable huh? That's too bad. Want me to
talk to her or something? And I'd call myself an
idiot for not doing that. I have to look after the
women in my life." Theo took pride in the fact that
he was well built. He knew it too and used it
heartilly to his advantage.
Draco Malfoy hwl: "Yes," he said, distractedly as he
thought of his mother, "taking care of the women in our lives
is a full time job." He smiled softly, "No, you don't have to
talk with Pansy. She's rather bloody minded when it comes
to her feelings. Very little will convince her that I wasn't
cheating on her if we weren't together. Ah well, I won't
change my feelings for her even if she despises me." He
could feel the silver medallion against his chest, weighing
heavily. If I found Dominique, maybe then she could
forgive me. Maybe...Loosening his own tie he leaned
forward, almost slumping onto the desk.
Theodore hwl: "Well it's a man's job," Theo said
matter of factly. "And alright, if you insist, though I
still do want to talk to her. She has turned into a..."
He didn't want to finish the sentence because if
Draco was like her brother, that might be the wrong
thing to say to him. "And well, I still have a hope
for your friendship. You two were always like that,
which is why it's odd that something like that could
make it crumble. Best friends don't dissolve their
friendships, they work it out. When trouble comes
along, that is the true test to a friendship." Words
of wisdom from Theodore Nott. Since when I do
spout out stuff like that? He looked at Draco. He
looked tired and stressed. "You okay? I mean, I
can bring down a little something if you know what I
mean, if you need it."
Draco Malfoy hwl: He waved his hand, "I'm good, thanks.
Just alot on my mind." He yawned, "Well, maybe I am a bit
tired. It just seems like there is never enough time for rest."
He looked blankly into the fire before speaking again.
"The problem is, Pansy went from having sisterly feelings to
having girlfriend feelings. While I remained with my
brotherly feelings. I was slowly, and obviously not doing a
good job at it, trying to show her that my affections for her
are only platonic. She thought otherwise and now she feels
betrayed. I think I'd have had better luck if I'd just slept with
some bloke, then she may still forgive me. Gah!" He really
was feeling tired, but he had too much work and not enough
hours ahead of him.
Theodore hwl: "You look tired mate. Seriously, you
should check into this thing I've gotten into. It's
called 'sleep.' " Theo chuckled lightly. "But
honestly, I think Pansy went all crazy on you for it
because Daph was her best friend and then you
were her best friend and things in her head became
a little whacked and well she just thinks that you
two betrayed her. Personally that's why I don't
have a best friend, so I have none of this betraying
junk going on but Daph's kind of turning into my
best friend... with benifits of our own. But with the
platonic thing, you might've had to spell it out to
her. I thought it would be obvious actually, but
maybe Pansy just didn't get it." He shrugged.
"Women are complex creatures."
Draco Malfoy hwl: "Sleep? What is this word you
speak?" he snorted and then laughed out loud. "Well, I
myself am on a best friend diet, no more, cutting them out.
They complicate things and make you feel like thestral dung
if you act human." He stood up, stretching the kinks out of
his back and walked over to the empty space beside
Theodore. The sofa was much more comfortable then the
desk chair. "Yes, women are complex in their simplicity. I
think I'll cut them out of my diet as well since they are
beginning to prove to be hazardous to my health." He
rubbed the still tender side of his face from where Pansy
had slapped him. Draco then stood up,
"I think I will try that new concept of sleep." He smiled as he
headed for his dorm. "Night, Theodore...I'll see you
tomorrow." With that he disappeared up the stairs.
