Ooh, benefits! Awesome!

I heart violets, but they takeover wherever they can. I used to gather the flowers and make violet syrup - not a lot of flavor but such a pretty purple color.

Oooh, never heard of violet syrup, but it sounds fun. But I'd have to pick them! Dilemma!

I think it's true of many flowers, but violets in particular are much prettier still on the plant than picked. And it takes, IIRC, an enormous number of violets to make a little bit of syrup, so only attempt if you have a real bumper crop.
