Rented and watched The Mist. Good flick. Hubby asked what it was about, read the description on the back of the DVD case and said he'd read it in the past as a short story called The Arrowhead Project; continued to tell me everything that happened in the movie

Yeah, the ending is certainly a downer. I think I'd always keep looking for a way out and I'd rather die fighting than shoot my own kid, but as you say - you never know until you're in that situation yourself. But I quite like the ending, it took some guts to end the film that way. I think if they'd kept going and been rescued by the army it would have seemed like an overly neat and upbeat resolution.

Yeah, Ollie was good, but I couldn't help being very pleased that the main guy was an illustrator! :D

Yes, while I was watching, that went through my head, that you would like that bit. He was a horror illustrator as well, wasn't he?

Welp I guess there's no point watching that movie since I know the ending now. :P

But that's not the whole ending. There's more, and it's worth the watch, really.
