The One Agency and United Talent Agency are two separate roleplay communities created by the same moderators. They're sister communities. The only difference with these sisters, and most others, are that these allow the members to interact. They share a taken character list, so that you can be a part of the system but choose whether you want to play on Livejournal or Greatest Journal, and which company you want to work with. The journals are private to each company, meaning on TOA employees can read TOA employees' journals and vice versa. But you can roleplay over AIM with absolutely whoever you want to. In the game they're two opposing companies, so this system introduces the possibility for great betrayal, spy-work and business maladies. Go wild with it. Think of love and war.

The community started in May 2007, and ran steadily through to August 2007. Unforunately, there were issues with certain members and certain storylines getting out of hand, and the community needed to clean out entirely. The rules, concepts, characters and attitudes all changed! For the better, for sure.
02: I was here before the clean-out. Can I reapply? And if I do, can I keep my previous story line?
Absolutely. Re-apply, but be sure to mention it on your application, and re-take your line. But please take into account the fact The One Agency was out of business for a few weeks when writing your first new entries.
03: Can I hold my original character?
Yup. Advertising will only start on the Wednesday, so you have plenty of time. Plus, all those on hiatus will automatically be held. I'm not entirely without soul. Just mostly.
04: Characters died before, without mod permission. What will happen to these characters?
Since deaths were only mentioned in tabloid news stories, we're going to call it press speculation. These characters will be up for the takings.
05: What about the angel/demon thing of before? Will that remain?
No. The moderators of the community never wanted like that to happen, so that will be removed completely. If your character was an angel/demon before, then that will be a facet that will have to be removed, since you never got mod permission for it, and it's therefore considered a void move.
06: When you say about Satanic influence, what does that mean? How does Satan come into it?
The idea is that the hierarchy of The One Agency are more religious cult than business associates. They worship and sacrifice to Satan for the benefits they received. That's all. Whether Satan responds or not, however... well, that's for you to think about, isn't it?
07: Awesome! Can I get in on that?
IM me and we'll discuss it. Of course, we have to keep a balance, but I'm guessing a good percentage of the company and the clients would participated/know.
08: How about the porn thing? What's that about?
The UTA really are desperate to keep ahead of things, and for that, they need money. Mr. CEO saw it fit to open an underground porn production company. Clients would be signed the normal way, but their first roles wouldn't exactly be appropriate...
09: Okay, I want to play the character I played before, but I want to play him differently, what do I do?
Apply, but mention it. If you have problems with those around you, let me know. You'll have to clear your journal, either by deleting all the entries or by marking them as private. You can do this instantly using a fabulous little script called LJ SEC. This can be used for both options. It's just a little bit of software that you can use to sort out your journal without it taking an eternity. It both deletes and changes security settings. Then, be sure to make it clear in your first entry your intentions for your character.
10: I keep seeing things in journals called 'Story Line Lists'. Explain?
These are lists of story lines people would like. It is recommended that people look at these lists before joining, so they can pick ready-set storylines for their selves and therefore integrate more easily into the community. A story line could either be a set line that requires a set character, or just a situation that anyone can be involved in.
11: Can I join both UTA and TOA?
Absolutely, but you need to do it with separate characters.
12: Are UTA and TOA separate communities or part of one whole?
Separate communities. UTA is simply the sister community. Members may interact as though in one game through AIM, and if a character is taken in one, he/she is taken in both, but still, they are separate, with separate though sometimes overlapping storylines, and the journals of each community can only be read by the members in that community.
13: Can I play a girl?
Yes. BUT, there are limits. There is a strict cap of 10 female characters, and these limited places are only available to those who already have a male character.
14: Can I play an Original Character?
Yes, but your history and personality segments of your application need to detail him, and in the section where you would usually place a photo, describe him. Of course, you can use a model, etc, but please try not to use a Play-By who is taken within the community.
15: What sort of characters are welcome in The Agencies?
All sorts! We do, however, prize originality, in both character portrayal and choice of character. We really want a diverse mix of characters here. In essence, we're hoping to provide an environment where people can experiment with the characters they've always wanted to play but never thought would fit.

So far the only way to overwrite a character is in the application process. If we get two applications for one character, and one is better than the other, we're going to go for what's better rather than what's first. If you have a problem with someone's roleplaying ability, please contact me and I will discuss it with them. People can improve, and I'd like to give them that chance rather than deleting them immediately.
17: This is AU. Does that mean I can do whatever I want with my character?
No. The situation is AU, but we would like you to keep with your characterisation as much as possible. Brandan S, for instance, isn't going to be a screaming female, in as much as Cat Casino isn't going to be Mr. Universe. Immediately, at least. The same for siblings -- Gerard and Mikey will be brothers within this game, whether you like it or not, since some facets of a character are concrete.
18: Does my character have to be new to the company?
No. They can be a long-timer, they could be brand new, they could have been there a few weeks, a few hours, a few years... They could be a founding employee/client. Anything you like.
19: What is a Private Entry?
If you mark it in the subject header, or put your entry in italics, that makes it PRIVATE. It's something you can see, but your muns can't. A personal diary entry from the character.
20: Who did the graphics/layouts/coding? Can I use them?
I did, and yeah. You can find it all at twirlingjesus. Because self pimping is fun.
21: How many kids can my character adopt?
No more than two per character. That means if you have a child with one dude, but you move on, you can only have one more with your next beatch.

theonemod - The moderator account, intended for posting OOC updates and messages, new characters and mod posts.
theoneagency - The main account. This is where you feel find all the important things, such as the FAQs, rules, applications and game summaries. This account is not updated, and the pages are set.
theoneooc - The home of OOC fun. Not only to people post things related to the game, such as rants, questions and hiatus notifications, but there is also chat, games, videos, spams and all that crazy stuff. Just vent, just have fun wid yo peoples.
theonegame - If a roleplayer can't get on AIM, or they're just in the mood, they can post a roleplay on here in the form of a thread game, either open or intended for a specific character.
theonelog - Post your AIM logs here for all to read. If you've made an important, or stupid business decision, or something that in general may dramatically effect the game, you NEED to post it here, under a cut, otherwise it doesn't count. You need to post at LEAST one log a week, otherwise you're counted as inactive.
theonelyrical - No one likes pages of flipping lyrics to scroll through, so post them here. You are not required to friend this community.
theoneinbox - This is the email server of the game, where both employees and clients can exchange emails, memos and the such. These can be spam, surveys, forwards, notifications of meetings, love notes or kinky filth.
theonesecret - The retarded twin of such projects as LJSecret and Post Secret. Submit your secret, either in text or graphic form, and have it put up for all to goggle over. Done in weekly cycles/batches. These secrets can be true from the depths of your soul, or utter, total, shit-stirring bullcrap! :D All IC, of course.
theonenews - The outside world is bound to react to the happenings within the agency, and this is the community to post articles documenting everyone's sordid activities and the public's response to it. You write it, theonenews publishes it, and we all squeal over it. Whether dirty little facts, reports from parties, the latest break-up or a full scale interview.
theoneroom - The random community for when your character gets ever so slightly high and decides to picspam cat macros, porn and PWETTY FLOWERS.
