Being buried under mountains of paperwork ever since Lance had been hospitalized, Christoph had worked through lunch and hadn't come out of his office since the bathroom break he took a couple hours ago. Now he knew how much work it was to be head of department, the workload was frankly a bit overwhelming.
He was in the middle of a puzzling piece of evidence when he heard Drake's voice coming from the doorway, looking up he could see that at least Drake wasn't as depressed as he was a couple days ago, which he took as a good sign. "Yah, come on in. I'm just finishing somethings." Christoph gestured to the chair in front of his desk. "How're you doing now?"
"I'm being agressively unaffected," he said, sitting down in one of the chairs across from Christoph's desk. "Break-ups happen and that's just the way things work out, right? Brave face and all," he said, giving him a quick smile.
Christoph was about to protest that but decided to keep his mouth shut, as long as Drake wasn't doing anything drastic then he supposed everything was okay. He nodded, "Want something to drink?" He opened the mini-fridge by his desk, "I've got soda, vitamin water, powerade, water, tea, juice..." He paused and excluded the selection of beer and scotch. "Or do you want something to eat? I visited Lance earlier today and so I made him some cupcakes, I have a couple leftover if you want some."
