While I reserve no allegiance to either main party I don't see that throwing away one's vote is helpful either.
I am currently engaged in trying to spread the 'good word' inside the TP movement. They have a tremendous momentum and are a fertile ground to sew libertarian ideas, as Democrat and GOP ex-pats who have become (properly) to feel disenfranchised by the major parties and the political class.
What I hope, and am trying to encourage, is a non candidate fielding party. As a candidate fielding party they will become the enemy of both major parties. However if they do not field candidates they become a power broker and can influence outcomes.
There's lots of libertarians. CFL has a presence at almost every event. We have an opportunity to educate people, and ingratiate ourselves with people, which may not occur again for a long long time.
