what's wrong with da vinci code? i mean, don't expect me to defend it, i thought it was an extremely boring story, but what've you got against it? (just out of curiousity)

I don't know. I can't say I've got that much against it, but I couldn't really think of any other book and I think, for all it's success, the novel itself is badly written. Secondly, I've a friend in new york (I say a friend, really I just read a blog she's got on myspace) who used to have a website with some friends and her section was pretty much discussing the whole concept of the da vinci code before that book was even written. Apparently he got his facts wrong as well (i don't know too much about it). And I'm possibly also bitter because he's rich and I'm not. Yeah, I guess that's it. Sorry for such a crap answer, I hope you weren't expecting a revealing story about my life as a nun. Thanks for taking an interest and asking though!

THANK YOU!!!!!

I mean, the whole world is going googly-eyed over that book, and I don't know about the facts presented in it or whatever, but I found it to be GENUINELY DULL. The characters were cardboard, the plot was a dragging sludge of nothingness, and yeah, they discussed some interesting concepts in the meantime, but by the time I got to those parts, I just didn't care. It was too badly written.

So I went to go see the movie, cause I thought maybe Tom Hanks and Audrey Tatou (sp?) could liven it up a bit, make me care. Nope. It still sucked.

And to be honest, yeah, I was hoping for some nunnery-filled past, or other shocking factoid to spurn your hatred of the book :)

Yeah, the only bit that excited me about that film was when the scary monk jumped out at them when they were in gandalf's living room and I jumped out of my seat and onto Paul's lap basically, but that was more because of the surprise that something happened.

DAN BROWN CAN NOT WRITE. that is all that needs to be said when asked why you don't like one of his books. plus all his books are basically the same (or so i hear from a very reliable source, aka my mum.)

HAHAHAH. PS. HAHAHAHAHAHAHSHDAH. when i checked with the spell checker, it suggested that instead of gandalf i write genitals instead. ack, i'm so immature. also, is that even how you spell gandalf in the first place?
