I've kept it for a good time, and for the most part its contents are personal and unacessible, and those who read it are people I trust my secrets with. it's a shame I do not write in it more often. so many things have happened in the gaps between, and even I, looking back

To it's eternal benefit "The Exorcist" film stays pretty close to the novel. Although the novel could almost be classified as a medical mystery story. Beyond all the religious themes of the book, it has a real spark of Lovecraftian horror, especially in the way that Blatty takes all of the comforts that modern science has afforded and kicks it all out from beneath your feet.
