Yes, I am procrastinating. On livejournal. Please don't judge. My paper is really good. Unfortunatly it's only a 2 page outline. BUT it will soon be brilliant and teachnically 2 pages is like three when you double space it and I haven't added quotes (and we all know how long-winded the bard can be) and it's a really good idea. So yea

If you do end up doing an Africana studies thesis, be sure to read If He Hollers, Let Him Go by Chester Himes. I found both the prose and the narrative to be much more compelling than Invisible Man. It's just more powerful and hard-hitting and down-to-earth. It was everything I wished Invisible Man had been.

Meanwhile, I'm terrified every time I think about my own thesis, and how I totally have no clue what I want to write about.

And be grateful you're not doing the overachiever thing. I've just slipped back into it for the first time since highschool, and it sucks. Having a real life is way cooler than making yourself do twice as much work as you need to out of a fit of neuroses.

It goes without saying that I miss you greatly. A series of long chats are definitely overdue.
