[Boris is entirely unamused. He seems to have fallen afoul of one of the many, many depraved mad scientists currently tearing the country he helps administrate apart: that's the only explanation he can think of for suddenly being in an unfamiliar town with nothing but his clothes, his balalaika, and a lingering sense of injustice.

I am quite human, yes. Merely modified by another human against my will, as tends to happen where I come from.

[He'll just ignore the 'it's good to not be the only one' sentiment because really, he's spent his whole life being 'the only one' so he's not quire sure how to handle it, even if it's a simple off-hand comment.]

Do you start life many-limbed and have them removed for cosmetic reasons? Or is it a show of status and strength, to willingly mutilate oneself?

[Earth is that dangerous? From everything she's seen of it, it seemed like a pleasant place. And human adolescents can be dangerous, but not outright manipulative.]

It's the natural progression of our biology. Extraneous limbs are shed with age.
Cosmetic reasons for anything are all but unheard of, to the eternal chagrin of the tasteful few.
