This is what going mad feels like

I've never used the Simon line as a subject before because I've never seen one worthy of it.  Now, I have and it was on So You Think You Can Dance, Canada.

It was Emanuel Sandhu, as a contestant.  I thought I was done seeing him on my television, forever.  Alas, this is not the case.

It was definitely Emanuel in all his glory.  He talked about how wonderful he was (although I laughed when the one judge didn't know who he was) and his accomplishments.  The first half or his audition was brilliant.  I know he's a trained dancer and he ever did a triple axel on the stage (and I scoffed if only he was so consistent on the ice).  The second half he got into his silly atry tricks which accomplish nothing other than make him look like an ass.  I have to say I was rather impressed that he didn't fall down.  It's the only trick Emanuel didn't pull.

I loved him being called out for being a prima donna.  I loved them questioning if he was really there to compete or just be a fame whore.  (He said the former; we all know it's the latter.)  Then they sent him through to the finals.  Wow, that's better than he did in several competitions when he didn't even make it out of the run-offs.

My concern is, what if he makes it to the top 20?  What if he gives everyone else what I call the Sandhu disease (choking when it's important and only being able to give a decent performance half the time)?  More importantly, like all those years of skating, will he take away a spot from someone who deserves it more because they are far more consistent and dedicated.

I'm taking bets now on what excuses he'll use when he screws up.  I'm taking his infamous "the flu."

Oh wait, perhaps he'll get tossed on age rules since he's been slowly readjusting his age since 2002.  If he's the age he says he is, then all those Chinese gymnasts are 16.

Emanuel Sandhu back on my television.  I thought my pain was over.  On the other hand, now I've shared my pain with all of you!

wtf?
