I try to bring my own bags, but if I somehow forget, I encourage them to use as few bags as possible & they always treat me like I have 3 heads. I've actually removed items from plastic bags & handed the bags back.
to be fair, I think they do this because it's in the rules to do it (bagging meat, or cleaning products, etc. away from food items) & because they don't want to get into trouble.
yeah that is understandable, but these were bottles of water. They were glass bottles but I think that if they are going to make the effort to be "green" and encourage people to spend a buck on their reusable bags then they should train their courtesy clerks to be a little green as well. It is like a fight to get people to skip bagging. "are you sure? you are sure you don't need a bag? You are going to just carry those two items?"
