Mary places the last glittering little ornament on her tree and stands back to admire her work. Not bad for her first ever Christmas tree! The dining table is set with her best china, and the menorah is lit in the window

Thomas steps inside, mindful of his manners and delighted to see such a wonderful celebration of and union of both sides of the fence. He knocks on the door with a bottle of wine in one hand and alcohol free eggnog under his arm.

Mary answers, beaming excitedly.

"Come in! I'll take your coat." She helps him off with his coat and takes the drinks in her other arm. "And I'll put these on the table. Help yourself to some latkes."

"Thank you Mary, it is a pleasure to be here. My apologies for Angela not being able to attend today. Maybe next year hopefully," he smiles and goes to put his items where requested.

"Feel free to take a present home to her, "Mary says. She's put several small, wrapped party favors under the tree. "I hope I did everything right..."
