Ed (
darkphuque) and i made dinner last night. mostly greek, but with excursions into other cuisines.
first, the appetizers:
pickled mushrooms a la Ed fusion (EVOO/vinegar, garlic, ginger, scallions
crackers with fresh ginger-citrus gravlax
keftedes (deep-fried lamb meatballs)....
...eaten with greek tzatziki (yoghurt, mint, garlic, cucumber, salt)
after our little hors d'oeuvres, we had moved to the salad
salada horitaki (tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, and kalamatas dressed with dillweed, mint, olive oil, and vinegar)
we then took a break to make avgolemono sauce:
...to be poured over lamb-stuffed zucchini (courgettes, if you prefer)...
...to make dolma avgolemono!
pita tis macadonia (a leek-and-onion-stuffed macedonian pie with TONS of egg, cream cheese, and paprika) was also served.
we then finished with a peach-and-date pie.

the day before, angie (
enzie) came over to make her delicious almond cake - this was all that remained by the next day.
