[The SFC turns on, and at first, nothing is seen except for the dark interior of Yomiel's apartment - it's rather empty, except for the view of a shattered coffee table lying on the floor like a wounded animal. Returning back to the way he once was has hit him harder than he thought it would. To have something you've missed for so long taken away ( Read more... )

let's have a group discussion, in his opinion fate sucks, can't actually die, chance versus fate, darn that meteorite, brb getting philosophical, playing russian roulette with himself

...

Ten years ago, I would have said chance governed our lives. But now, I'm not so sure.

I think there must be some kind of fate. But I don't think it's something that is set in stone. Fate can be averted through what people do.

How much reality...?

[That's a hard question. Yomiel takes a minute to think about it.]

I want to say that reality doesn't change based on what you think...but if what I said before is true- that fate is determined by people's actions- then reality depends on what you think and believe more than we think, right? Therefore it could be logical that reality could be made of what's in our mind.

I don't think they're controlled by either. I think they're just controlled by people and their decisions, aside from natural disasters.

Someone chose to drop that money, or stand out in the rain, or go to the street or wherever. Nature isn't really controlled, it's an independent thing, but that doesn't mean you have to run around unaware of what's going on in it.

That could make sense, but it's not like you could predict when some impossible event will occur and make a decision based on that. We all can't see into the future.

Though you do have a point. In the end, it's because of our own decisions that something happens.

[Video] But I love it. :( chivalrygrudge June 17 2011, 18:33:01 UTC
Define 'impossible', then.

[Video] I do too. <3 theothersissel June 17 2011, 18:36:49 UTC
Somethng so unexpected that it is almost out of the bounds of normal logic.

For example, a man kills another man. Of course, the dead man stays dead. But he could become a ghost and make the murderer's life a living hell. How do you predict something like that?

That was a heinous amount of introduction for such a short and simple question. Sounds like you're the type that likes to listen to themselves talk.

What can I say, I've perfected the art of talking to myself over the years. I have to use it somehow.

You could go into politics with a talent for talk like that. I mean, all talk and no answers. Sounds like one heck of a politician to me.

[A cold laugh.]

Nah, politics isn't for me. I'd rather be behind the line, making the events happen in my favor.

If you think it was a waste of time, why did you comment? You could have just ignored it.

You asked for opinions. I think you're wasting your time with this stuff. Not that hard to keep up, is it?

Good! Nice to know people aren't total idiots around here and understand when they're being lectured at.

[Mion watches with slightly wide eyes, only to flinch when he pulls the trigger.]

Fate can be broken if you try to overcome it.

[Not that it helped her or her friends in the end, but it was what Kei-chan believed in, and so it's what she believes in as well.]

How so? "Trying" isn't enough. I know from experience.

[A smirk as he spins the cylinder again. God, he loves toying with people.]

[Her lips are drawn into a thin line.]

It takes everyone working together to succeed. If only one piece is out of place, then chances are it won't work.
