Character Info
Character Name: Mary/Lady
Character’s Age: Let it be known it's never stated in canon, but she does appear to be very young, younger than Dante and Vergil. I, personally, usually place her three years younger than the twins, which is usually 16 years of age, despite Lady being pretty apt for someone her age, but then again, so are Dante and Vergil.
Fandom: Devil May Cry
Timeline: Post third game :)
Appearance:
Lady is the type of girl who puts function over fashion. If it's easy to move around in, then she's going to wear it -- modesty isn't an issue, at times. Although Lady won't be caught dead wearing too little... yet. She's more of the tomboy in a sense. Her clothing isn't at all feminine or "lady-like", if you forgive the pun. She's neither ugly nor gorgeous, but pretty in her own sense. She's still about average height for a sixteen year old, five feet, three inches and is obviously still growing. She's got a slender build -- but it's toned, muscled in it's own way. She looks like a cross between a dancer and a gymnastic enthusiast, which isn't too far from the case, considering how she moves.
Also, she is littered with scars, head to toe, all over her body, even if they're faint. The most infamous one sits across her nose, bisecting it. Her most notable feature, much to her dismay, is her heterochromia -- her eyes. The right one is red, the left one is blue, something that she's inherited from her father. She prefers to keep her hair short and out of her face, which mean it's a layered page cut, fanned out at the sides, thick and black. She's young, her clothing and appearance will change over the course of her life, but for now, Lady just simply doesn't care. If her jeans or boots are worn out, too bad, she's wearing them.
History:
Welcome to my screwy canonPersonality:
Lady carries a very stern air to her, a very no-nonsense, and often aloof. If anything, to be blunt, Lady can even come off as a bitch and she's not one to even care this. She can be guilty of being a little cold, with underlying hints of her fiery temper. Lady likes to look like she doesn't care and deal with other people. She's a very rough person, but is exceptionally meticulous, careful, and considerate in what she does. She keeps a lot of people at arms length, it seems, and doesn't seem to trust in others easily, if at all. Lady is also very mature for her age; she can take on many responsibilities and hardly ever complains or breaks (or so you can see). She speaks openly and honestly, she is a blunt girl who will tell you openly what she thinks and not care what you may feel. She is a very driven and persistent girl, who may be occasionally guilty of biting off more than she can chew. Her work may often rule her, she is very much indeed guilty of being overly serious. Frowning upon anything that diverts her away or anyone else who doesn't take things seriously, in her eyes. Of course Lady can be very critical. She can be unfriendly or somewhat friendly, depending verily much on how you approach her.
But beyond that, she is a kid who had to grow up faster than most. And that's exactly what she is: she's a kid. She can be overconfident at times and can be overwhelmed if not careful and doesn't want pity. When in a pinch, she is one who hardly asks for help, unless it is under dire circumstances and it is completely limited to a handful of people she knows she can trust. Lady isn't prone to making friends, but she'll be swayed when she can find something to relate to with others. She is also smart about not stirring the pot, Lady isn't about to make enemies she knows she can't handle, either. Lady is still growing and has her life ahead of her, which is why it is important she can be a little naive, sometimes. She sees the world in some shades of colors and is still learning to look beyond the traditional view of good and evil.
Although she's meticulous and very driven, it should be expected she's also very stubborn once she has her mind on things. It'll take a literal beating to get her to back down or a stern talk -- especially if it becomes a very personal matter to her. She isn't one to wear her heart on her sleeve, but choses to hold back on her emotions, that will come out if she emotionally vests herself too much. Thankfully, this is not a common occurrence with her. She may love to argue or press her point and morality on others, too. She can come off as someone who is prone to giving you a hard time, but it isn't always with ill intentions. While she has a short temper and will raise her voice, it hardly goes beyond anything than a mild threat or a smack from her, unless there is an extreme case. If it strikes too many personal nerves, Lady is prone to not thinking and becoming more violent as she becomes more emotional. But leave it to Lady to recover very quickly, she's extremely adaptable.
She is a little more accepting of anything of the non-human variety now, thanks to Dante. That doesn't mean she will welcome them with open arms, but at least she knows humanity can exist in something else, like Dante. Though what is to be remembered with Lady, especially, is what drives her. It's the tragedy she faced younger with her parents, her mother being killed by her father for dark reasons. This is what keeps her going, the memory of her mother, which Lady will hold dear, despite rarely discussing her. She is driven to ensure no one else suffers the way she has and to see anyone else like her father. In other words, despite her rough and aloof experience, she is a very compassionate, even motherly. Lady is loyal to her handful of people and her goals, she is very dependable, quick to action, and with a level head. But god help you if you mess with anyone she knows or herself.
Powers/Abilities:
Despite what you see in DMC3, she is very human! Lord knows where she got it, but she is very apt in close quarters combat -- possibly even martial arts, very close to gun-kata. She is very fit, which it makes it easier for her to be quick, acrobatic, and stronger than most. Lady also has a very good pain tolerance, obviously, able to be stabbed, get up, and walk away. While we're on this vein of being stabbed, she might know a thing or two about first aid, but hey, that would make sense, wouldn't it?
Of course, Lady knows her projectile weaponry and guns. She can clean, reload, and take apart guns likely as quick as someone in the armed forces. She carries Kalina Ann and grenades, which means she knows her stuff when it comes to explosives. If Lady is cornered, she'll fight her way out of it, come hell or high water.
Lastly, in a matter of speaking, Lady knows about the supernatural, paranormal, theology, and demonology. Which is proven, since she refers Dante to Fortuna, mentioning Devil Arms and gives him cases in the anime. Also, she definitely should have known this tailing her father to Temen-ni-Gru. She is probably not as knowledgeable as he was in these subjects, but she fairs very well. Hell, since she probably has been out on her own for a while, mechanics and cooking are right up there; but this is more fanon, for me and her.
Limitations:
Since Lady is so reliant on guns as a fighter, if you were to take away most of them, she would definitely be at a disadvantage. So if she is just down to one gun, instead of... (I think she's got three others, aside from Kalina Ann?) whatever number she has, there's quite a limit. And explosives. If this does not work, let me know.

Log/Third Person Sample:
She hadn’t meant for this. A little trail of sanguine trickled down her arm, blossoming into a red stain underneath the shirt she was wearing, centered on a fresh cut. She was never one to be so careless, one to be so inclined to insist to throw herself in stupid situations. This cut was barely noticeable, not until the beast that gave her received point blank shot to the head, turning around to gaze down her shoulder, to where the sharp pain was. “Huh,” The girl remarked, surprised that such a nasty “little” cut didn’t sting. So it wasn’t as little as she thought it was. But that was the least of her concerns right at the moment.
Where was she-oh, yes, she wasn’t intending to be so careless, having her back against the wall, facing two or more sins coming her direction, wielding their stupid little scythes, dropped jaws, and murmuring bestial noises. Did they really see her for the baby-faced girl that some saw her as? Did they think for a moment this small, slender thing couldn’t do any harm? She was a little twisted, on the other hand, beaming a content smile, watching three or more inch dangerously close, a nagging voice at the back of her head almost chiming in for her to stop playing around with the creatures. So she leaned further back, more fond of switching to explosives, watching their stupid, droopy faces turn into nothing more than shatters of pieces of limbs and dust of sands.
They really were stupid, weren’t they? They didn’t even seem to notice her arms that were already moved behind her back snuggly, able to let one slender hand pull out two homemade explosives for both of her hands. It bided her enough time at least, though it was idiotically too close. Lady would simply result to Kalina Ann’s blade, firmly between her legs to fire the grappling hook, as soon as the bombs hit the ground, perfect enough for Lady to land safely away, still baring that childish smirk.
“Boy,” Lady pulled herself up, dusting off her thighs and arms as if their sandy remains had gotten on her body, “How stupid can you things be?” She spoke, baring no mind to the irony of her close call, her reckless behavior beforehand. She would continue further up, she was certain, tugging the strap of her massive weapon, moving further up in the tower, without a second thought or hesitation. She wasn’t sure where she was going, but she was going to do it, regardless.
She was going to find him, regardless of any interruption, with no fear she once held to look him in the eyes. The man would suffer, Lady was sure of that, though unsure of how to do it. Evidently, this girl wanted him to pay severely, carrying a weapon that was named after her departed mother. It was a delicious irony, wasn’t it? It was poetic revenge! More ironic given in her younger years, her father had such a fancy for such cruel twists of fates in his books and the like.
He had already thrown her off the tower once, left her to face a demon that was more humanoid than these creatures, by far, only to shoot him twice in the head. The disgusting thing even had the nerve to flirt with her. If he was expecting for her to be thrown off by that, he was right. Forget the fact she shot him twice in the head, without even knowing he was demonic beforehand.
But this girl paused, leaning up to peer up a crude stone spiral stair case, further up the tower with a disappointed and very angry sigh. Despite being so happy to take on numerous lower demons, it was aggravating. He threw off at least two or three stories up, didn’t he? “I can’t believe I have to do this again,” She muttered more to herself. Wasn’t there an easier way? She was sure, but even as the tower-was it even shifting?! It was moving, in a way, doors and locks were opened. Bear in mind that was all good and fine, but that left more demons and the like to tire and drain her. Peering down at the sides of her pockets, patting them with gloved hands, she wrinkled her brow - she only had so much to go on. “Damn it, I should have made more.”
She shrugged it off, of course, instantly retaining the fire, remembering her father’s leering a face.
After all, it was I who gave you your name, my darling daughter!
And that would be enough to fuel her, a hot hatred pacing through her veins, stomping out of the small hallway, and proceeding up the staircase - not quickly as she would have liked, but still enough to conserve her energy, and keep a small pace. After all, he was going to pay for it. Whether it be blown to bits, or stabbed through the heart just like her mother, by the end of her cannon. Family matters-so much fun to deal with.

[A soft feed comes in. The owner of this device, in question, has clearly taken some time to learn this thing. But despite that, this person isn't really happy at the moment. So when she speaks, no matter how calculating it is, she's disgruntled. Ever so easily picked up by the sound of her voice.]
Haa.
I'm never trusting that idiot with another job as I live. [Keep in mind, this is said off-handedly... mostly to herself]
So obviously. I'm not heading down Pearl street anymore, am I? It begs the question- or rather, the hope that I haven't fallen through some demonic portal. And if so, it's lost it's face value.
