If I was a Buddhist Right Now, I'd Be Pissed

Now I am one to support religion... any religion.
The problem isn't religion gracing our lives... it is the people who stand throughout the university trying to "preach" to us with their word. The problem is that it is given to us, despite our beliefs, as we are walking around the university. These old men stand around and hand us pamphlets

I, personally, think religion is a private thing. Witnessing to others is one thing, but as you say "shoving it down people's throats" is another. I agree - that is quite frusterating. But isn't it just as bad as the people who hand out porn fiers on the strip? That is just a fact of society. Somebody is ALWAYS out there trying to get others to agree with them, to do what they do, to believe what they believe. Sure, we may look at it as wrong and just downright annoying, but there is also something to be said about free speech. If you had something you believed in so strongly, you would probably to the same - share it with anyone who would listen. Oh, and rights go both ways...as much as it is their right to say what they want, it is our right to not listen if we disagree. Or, stand right next to someone promoting Christianity and promote Buddhism if you feel like it. So as much as I agree with you, you really can't complain! haha - I love having an opinion! :)
