Why am I so apprehensive about buying music in digital format even though I listen to about 95% of my music via computer or mp3 player? Do I really need a CD?

Because I don't trust technology. Yes, I do. Looking through someone's digital music collection is way less fun than CD collection.

To support all those musicians you listen to...

That's what buying a T-shirt and buttons at a concert is for.

True, but I never wear buttons or t-shirts, so that doesn't really work for me.

"Because I don't trust technology. Yes, I do."
that's a confusing grammatical construction

That is true, though I was trying to answer the two questions I posed. Thanks for ruining it. Thanks a lot.

Or, I truly, truly do not trust technology that it has confused me so thoroughly.

I'm the same way. Even though I rarely listen to CDs they look good on a shelf and they're good to paw through at other people's houses. Also I hate the idea of paying money for something and only getting some 0s and 1s as an MP3 that I can't touch. The tactile experience of a new CD is awesome.

Agreed! I'm all about people looking at my books and CDs and doing the same to others.

Yay automatically having a backup!

I usually just buy CDs for artists that I am extremely gung-ho about. All the rest of y'all art folks can deal.

Yeah, I have no problem spending money on artists I really like, but others I'm only lukewarm on, I don't really care enough.
