Words rock. Derh. Do any of you guys (I like to pretend sometimes that more than 2 people actually read this thing) have favorite words? Care to share?

One of my all-time favorite words is Cadence. Something beautiful about it, I think. I also particularly like ennui and fuselage.

Also...fun with BOOBS!

"stupid" but only when pronounced with a liquid "u" like the British say it.

Word.

Ampersand is a good one, too. I don't even know what scherzo means! Thanks for the link and the new word to look up!

I really love "ennui", too, because not only is it an aesthetically pleasing bouquet of syllables, but it has absolutely no synonyms that are even remotely close, and it takes paragraphs--paragraphs--to even begin to explain what it is. The Germans or the Greeks would clunk together some hideous seven-or-eight-piece compound word to match that, and maybe the Chinese would have some perfectly pitched sing-song gem that only they can pronounce, or a symbol only they could draw, but the French...ah, they simply have ennui. Anyway, good choice.

I also like "tabernacle," but I have no good explanation why.

I like that..."bouquet of syllables," very well put!

As for tabernacle, I secretly always think "barnacle" when I see that word. Maybe that's understanding, though, since they both have the "-nacle" ending. Anyway, another good choice.
