Amazing concerts.
This has been the most amazing year for concerts-- wow. So we went to see Janelle Monae at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo a couple weekends ago. As a quick change of plans on Friday night, we decided to catch The Scarlet Ending at the Bug Jar. Jill mentioned them once, then I heard them do a live interview on the radio, and I decided that it would really stink if we did not take the opportunity to go see them in such a small venue. Stony Brook State Park
Pretty nice weekend camping. The past two summers there was a lot of rain, but this summer has been pretty good until this weekend. Saturday night we were just getting ready to climb into the tents when it started to sprinkle. Yellowstone Bear Attacks
Did anyone hear about this? We were in the park that day looking for bears. We had a little mental check list of the animals we needed to see...

GVO CSA spoils and other vegetable nonsense.
I have eaten about 5 raspberries out of the patch in the back yard already. There are also about a dozen plump cherry tomatoes in the garden that just need to ripen. I swear I thought I saw one starting to turn pink. What a crazy growing season. I still want to make some strawberry jam but I think I might have missed the local season... In "Born to Run," the author writes about the joy that is visible in long distance runners. It's something he keeps coming back to. Did joy propel them to run, or did they run and then subsequently find joy? -
Veggiesveggiesveggies
J and I planted a raised garden bed over the weekend. I have to say, I am pretty impressed with it! Hopefully we will get some tomatoes and peppers from it. The herbs were already started and we can use them now. Also this weekend I had my first pick up from the Genesee Valley Organic CSA.
