im not here to lament over a girl, or piss and moan about how lonely I am, because there is no girl for me to lament over, and while i am lonely, ive slowly become numb to it. i dont often question my existence, but i have been lately, i question why im doing what im doing, because it is all

Forgive me for what will probably seem like extreme impertinence, but why the assumption that life is entirely about being happy? People that spend their lives just trying to be happy rarely are, while those that live for something more than themselves often discover great happiness and fulfillment.

happiness is all i need. all of the things in life that are worth having are the things that make you happy. politely tell me exactly how his logic is flawed here.

Happiness is an emotional response to a set of stimuli, if that is the purpose of your life, I can't help it if I find that lacking. Even simply believing in chance, with no God involved, the chances of me being born are astronomically slim, multiple millions or billions to one (I can't recall). And those odds served to create me, the second most intricate organism to date (woman being the first) and I'm here for a scant few years just to be happy? I'm sorry but that's just not enough. I can sit at home and be very happy whilst 29,000 children die of hunger every week. I can sit at home and do the things that make me feel good while everyone and everything around me suffers because I'm unwilling to do anything about it. No, there is more to life than looking out for me, and those are the things that ultimately I will find more fullfilling, and I'm quite certain that anyone else who helped a suffering person would say the same thing.

And by the way Bob, your picture is amazing, I'm currently replaying Baldur's Gate II as we speak!
