So, i had what was probably the worst day i ever had at work today. The absolute shittiest day ever. It was so bad that i didn't smile all day.

But when i came back, switched on the highlights of yesterday's match... Everything else didn't matter anymore. It's not easy being an Arsenal supporter, and truth be told the fire has been weakening over the last few months. But yesterday's game... Haha. I don't know where to begin. When i woke up and saw the score at 1-0 with Villa scoring via a Clichy mistake, I despaired. I prayed it wouldn't turn into a massacre. I wondered why we could never beat them. Were they really that good in the first place? Deep in my heart, i believed that with both sides at full strength, Arsenal could at least match them/cancel them out. But as it turned out, we went behind, paying the price for a lapse of concentration. And so i kept track of the gamecast, sinking further and further into hopelessness before two substitutions changed it all. Arshavin came on for Song and Villa came off for Keita.

Robin van Persie smashed home the ball from an impossible angle. it was 1-1, with about 20 minutes to go. Game on. And a few minutes later, a wonderful defence splitting ball from Fabregas found Nasri, who squared it to Arshavin. The little russian (he's the same height as i am!) curled the ball first time into the goal. 2-1.

2-1.

Against arguably the best side in the world.

The atmosphere was absolutely electrifying. I felt it even though i was watching highlights on the computer. Imagine what it must've been like live.

This sounds silly but when i watched arshavin score that goal, i felt very emotional all of a sudden. I think i would've wept tears of joy if i were watching live.

The team held on. And we won.

I know it's only the first leg, but i am so proud of the team. It's not easy being an Arsenal supporter. It's not. You've got to put up with a lot of taunting, a lot of heartbreak. But nights like these... It reminds you that it's all worth it. I am very very proud of all the players. Every one of them. We beat Barcelona playing attacking football. How many teams can say that? I am so proud of the team.

We are The Arsenal.
