And it's funny how cable will do that to you. I've been through such phases, where there will be some one particular channel that I just watch for no good reason. It's been Cartoon Network in the past. The Food Network. Even the Disney channel. I had an epiphany one night, my first semester here, when I realized I must be *really* lonely, because I was watching Disney channel shows I truly did not like, just for the pleasurable illusion of having encountered a familiar face that day. I realized I needed, at the very least, to become addicted to a better channel...

I had that experience once with iCarly! No idea why I was watching it.
The Food Network, now...that used to be my total comfort TV. Curling up on rainy days, or after teaching, and watching people cook stuff was a major part of my life. I like cooking shows anyway, because I might glean something from the less complicated ones, and PBS does a block of cooking shows on Saturday mornings (when they're not on pledge drive, anyway). So I still get a little of my cooking show fix, but it's not the same...
