    I've had very little time or attention for things online this month.  I've barely even played KOL, let along read or post in LJ.  In a way this may be good, but I feel kind of bad about not reading the posts of the few people left in my friends page who actually post anymore.  It's late, so paragraphs are short ( Read more... )

Regarding Pan's Labyrinth: I wouldn't have thought that you'd be able to stomach all the blood and torture. Huh. And the ending may have fit the movie, but that doesn't make it happy. I'm a stupid American, I like my happy endings. Well I'm glad you "enjoyed" the movie.

Oh I was horrified at points, but in the end I thoroughly enjoyed it. I employed strategic looking-away maneuvers (mainly for the amputation - there wasn't much warning for anything else), and it helps quite a bit when I know the horribleness isn't (or hasn't, in the case of a certain doccumentary) happening to a real person per se. Or at least that helps most of the time.
