It's that time again.  The annual "Whee, I don't want to be a year older" post.  I must admit it's indescribably better than the most readily available alternative, but all the same I'm still not too thrilled about being 23.  By the time Mozart was 23 he had been composing for 18 years.  He wrote his thirty-third symphony when he was 23.  Farther ( Read more... )

Happy Birthday!

How do you like House of Leaves? I found a copy recently but haven't picked it up yet. Would you recommend it? You should add the short story anthology If I Were an Evil Overlord. Its really fun.

I find it really strange and disturbing. In other words, a very good, interesting book. Especially if you like books with footnotes. And footnotes with footnotes. And footnotes with footnotes with footnotes. That go for two or three pages. And are sometimes upside down and/or backwards.

I've decided to call it 'concrete prose' after the poetry style of a similar name. Very fun, creepy book.

Ah, I tried doing that three or four months ago for someone else when I was in Latin 1. I gave up halfway through due to confusion and tiredness. :)
