Day 2 of the power outage caused by Friday night/Saturday morning's storms.  Calls to the power company say that it may be restored sometime Monday or possibly Tuesday.  I've lost count the number of times I've absentmindedly turned on a light switch or tried to listen to MPR.  Sigh.  Going to sleep once the sun goes down is quite difficult, too

The trick is to live on the same power grid as a hospital or fire station. Places like that have priority in power restoration. That's how when the ice storm hit St. Louis last November, my power was only out for three hours, there's a fire station down the road.

Hm, I really didn't think the storm was going to cause that much damage. I heard it in Minneapolis and I just thought it was a stronger than usual storm. Then I saw all the branches and trees that fell apart...and of course, our store is too good to close down with the damn generator. I say we give you power and we close our store for a couple of days. Then everyone's happy!

We sold so much ice the last couple days at work, it was insane. I felt bad when we ran out and I had to tell people we didn't have any.
