It's about his little sister going on a road trip to Los Angeles and then having some bad visions.

Yeah. After you said that... I went and googled it. The first thing that was on about it was some premise review that was not appealing at all. Hahaha.

I'll still watch it though. :-P

sounds... strange, honestly. excepting the fact that it's his sister's turn to have terrifying psychological trauma involving something probably like a cat rather than a bunny in a halloween suit, i can't see it being a sequel of the original movie. puzzling as donnie darko was for me after the third time, i still like it, but i feel it's definitely a very stand-alone kind of movie.

i probably won't watch the sequel though, since i'm assuming jake gyllenhaal isn't in it. har. :p
