We've got a great crop of contestants already signed up for the tourney. I was thinking we might have to give someone a first round bye to round us up to 8 contestants, but we're already over 16. I don't think we're going to get close to 32, and for those of you with questionable math skills, tournaments are easiest when the number of contestants ( Read more... )

Shit... that sucks.

But no big deal. Without your help, it'll probably just mean I'll cut a little more into the voing time.

2.5 days is plenty anyway.

I'm not sure I like the final round being left on a gamble with blind man's bargain but otherwise it sounds good to me.

It's gotta get harder as you go, and tht's really the hardest theme we have.

Last thing I want is for someone to win the whole thing because more people like the song/movie/show they chose.

However, I'm open to other suggestions.

I agree with Franklin on that one. I think the best entries require an eye for detail and a way with describing scenarios. So many people entered the Blind Man's Bargain because you really can't think about it. That's why I did, anyway. ;)Yes, bizzaro was the most difficult, most most repetitive when it came to the different entries. Maybe the championship should have several speech bubbles, and funniest man wins, bottom line.

The third round (heaven help us if I get that far) would do well as a Bizarro contest. Or perhaps a One-Word round (only one word per bubble).

Confuses the stink out of me. Just give me a cover and show me where to stick the caption

i can't reliably come up with captions every time, so i didn't bother to enter, but if you want help with anything at all, even if its just randomly distributing the participants in the brackets, just let me know; i'd love to help

Thanks for the offer. Actually, I already have a method planned for true randomization of contestants, but if you want to help you could do so by going to comics.org and hunting for covers.

I'll need at least 8 of them with a single speech bubble... plus another 7 of varying complexity. So any help you can give in that pursuit would be appreciated.

Also, I still need to find a championship belt image. Something the height of our other special recognition awards, but a bit wider.

OOOOH sure! Offer to help and then when I take you up on it it's all, "Whoops, I'm busy!"

I see how you are!*
