[Talia really just wanted to get down to the stables, nose deep in her journal as she listens and reads past entries. She was not expecting to leave her room and come nearly face to web with any number of delicate weavings throughout the hallway. [Talia looks at the bite mark, but it really just looks like any other spider bite right now; a little red spot and nothing impressive. She finally disengages herself from the webbing, making a face as she weaves around more spiders.]

I am fine, beloved .. damnable spider and nothing more. Are they like this everywhere?

[Talia makes a sound of displeasure.]

I do not begrudge them their place and right to it .. but they are everywhere!

[Her nose wrinkles slightly at his finding one in a bottle, but she laughs next, her voice amused and teasing.]

But not something that would keep you long from it, hmm?

[Skittering along the wall comes Patty, his larger than usual spider legs running before launching him across the hall to the opposing wall. Spying Talia, he halts and then slowly creeps closer, black eyes staring at the woman with interest.]

[You ever get that feeling that you're being watched? Like, especially when you're in a dark hallway filled with spiders and spider webs? Yeah, well Talia is getting this uber creepy vibe right about now. She rubs the bite on her hand and then ignores it, frowning as she looks around the hallway.

However the quick scan shows her nothing more than webs and spiders of various sorts. She bends to retrieve her journal, having dropped it when getting tangled up. She catches a bit of motion on the wall and stops, squatting as she lifts her gaze and looks again. Her eyes widen slightly as they finally find and settle on a slightly off color shape on the wall.]

Havens ..

[She slowly begins to rise back to her feet, hand moving to one of the scimitar-like swords at her hips. She merely rests her hand on its hilt, not yet drawing the blade.]

You are a bit larger than your fellows ..

[Her hair. It's so damn pretty and red. The spider climbs up the wall so he's on eye level and reaches from his wall with his front two legs to her hair.]

[Talia eyes the arachnid as it begins to not only move toward her, but move up the wall to head level. Her eyes widen, but she cannot back any further away than she has, a series of webs behind her blocking the way. She turns back to it, mind opening and brushing at its own as its legs rise and touch her hair, earning a soft strangled sound from her.

She can't know if it will garner anything, but big fucking spider reaching for her hair! :O]

*Sollux was on his way out of the barracks, very carefully avoiding as many webs as possible (and generally wishing he'd decided to just jump out of a window instead) when he comes across Talia.*

[Talia has made a bit of progress down the hall, although she is still intent on not stepping on the spiders if she can avoid it; particularly after learning that at least one was perfectly sentient.

She hears approaching steps and glances back over her shoulder, not startled at all at the appearance of the non-human looking Sollux, whether or not she knows him. Talia's seen some crazy shit in her life, and what with being life-bonded to Kevas she rather takes it all in stride.]

Is the infestation as bad down that way as this?

*Sollux does not care about stepping on spiders; they are in the way and would probably step on him if they were bigger. He assumed he wouldn't care much about Talia, either, but stops short at her voice.
It was her. That fucking loud girl...and she was still alive? Something else must be wrong here.
He hmphs and straightens up.*

Its probably the same everywhere. I could barely leave my room.

[Talia can't help but miss the reaction the boy has toward her and she frowns slightly. She realizes precisely why he is looking at her that way when she hears him speak. Her smile slips a bit and her stomach tightens.

Damn.

He looks quite unimpressed to see her and she forces herself to nod.]

I rather feared that was the case .. [She ponies up now, because really there is no point in avoiding or acting like she doesn't realize who he is.]

Sollux, yes?
