1. I’m one of those “new to Lost fandom” people (I started my LJ and posted my first story about 6 months ago, and watched seasons 1-5 in one big chunk last summer), but from what I’ve observed it’s pretty diverse, probably because of the sprawling cast of characters. There’s a lot more diversity in Lost fandom than there is in say, The X-Files or SVU, where you have 2 main characters so 90% of fic will be about them ( ... )

Yes, I'd say the same about trends relating to canon events. Hadn't thought about ff.net, maybe because I don't often go there - although if it's heavily dominated by quadrangle het, I probably wouldn't fit there anyway!

1. I think that there are popular pairings that people generally levitate to. The main tags are usually The Love Quadrangle with some slash thrown in. I think that as more and more characters came into the picture, it made it easier for people to mix it up though. I mean, there are always going to be a following of a couple, but there is alot of mixes out there ( ... )

I've never actually taken a story down, but there are posts I've made private before now because I've decided they were no good.
