My preference right now, for setting and ending, is definitely AU where there's some possibility of a not totally tragic ending (I'm keeping my hopes up that there's not going to be something in the canon alt timeline which spells tragedy, any AU will do for me.)

In my WIP where Boone survived and got rescued but Shannon still died, I took the decision to keep Shannon's death in there for other reasons, but it works for me from the slash perspective to have her not there. Kate, I ignore when pairing Jack with anyone else. Speaking of family, one aspect that interests me is the idea of Jack being introduced to Sabrina, given that Jack was the doctor who saved Sarah over Adam. Has anyone ever tackled that in fic? I certainly intend to.
