Well, the first fic I ever posted was something with characters that rarely get ficced, so nothing has changed there!

I was surprised at the amount of positive feedback I received for Newspaper Cuttings, considering the unusual perspective (Helen Norwood), so I'd consider that one of my greatest hits.

I'll Remember Where The Love Was Found If The Plane Goes Down is another favourite of mine. Part of me thought about going back and revisiting that one at some point, but don't know if I will now.

Better Man would be my other choice.

I remember that Helen one -- it was so great! Really heartbreaking, and so cool that someone tried something from her POV.

Over the 15 months I've been writing in the Lost fandom my fic has shifted so immensely from my first story to my most recent that I feel like they've almost come from two different writers. I think I had an idea, even right from the start, of what I wanted my style to be, but it took a lot of trial and error (emphasis on the latter) to get to where I was aiming. I think the only similarities are the characters I'm still predominantly writing, a desire to do plot-focused stuff rather than straight character studies, a couple of writing crutches I can't kick and an intense reliance on wordiness. ;P I think the biggest factor in terms of developing my own writing was reading that of others -- I've found so much inspiration in discovering amazing fic-writers whose styles and stories took interesting chances and perspectives.

Oh man, that's an awesome question (re: Greatest Hits), but I don't even know ... doing a quick scan of my journal, I guess 'cause the chains I been hearing now for most of life because it was the first time I felt ( ... )

I love that you say that, because I think that's a rare quality for a fic writer (at least from my limited perspective) and a really valuable one (especially if you ever want to make the jump to original fiction). You're tremendously gifted at both genres, but there's an attention to detail in your writing that I think must emanate from that plot-based focus of yours. It lends a very intense quality to your writing that makes it truly unique.

Sleep, little sister, don't dream, as well as I think one other of your fics, is at the top of my to-read list, just so you know. Oh, and I'm obsessed with Some strange rain. Can't. Stop. Re-reading. ;D
