I was a huge The Quiz Show fan for season 1 and would call it one of my favorite Japanese dramas of all time. I tried The Quiz Show 2 but didn't really get into it, and stopped watching around episode 5. I have no clue how the season ends (and please no spoilers ( Read more... )

I too am a huge fan of the first season and truthfully the 2nd season couldn't compare but I would still recommend this drama to others.
The overall storyline didn't really intrigue me and it kind of dragged but the acting was great. Not so much the supporting actors but Sakurai and Yokoyama both really did an amazing job.

Honestly, while 2 tried to be a contender, it didn't quite have the same impact as part 1. Everyone did their part fine, with the exception of the other Johnny's dude who played the antagoinst/Assistant Director, who was about as wooden as wood with wood sauce ( ... )

Of the other dramas you've mentioned, I've only been watching Love Game and I like it quite a bit (though it seems to have starting following a predictable pattern). I'll check out the others you recommend! :-)

since I havent watch the 1st season (I'd love to, do you know where can I get it?!!! ToT), I cannot compare the 2nd to the 1st season, but... since the second season is more of a continuation of the 1st, so I guess it's kinda useless to compare it anyway, because it's not a remake ^_^
I personally like the "growth" of each character, and I think I'm the type who judge objectively even though I'm a big fan of Sakurai Sho and Yokoyama Yu. But I think they did just fine here. So, yeah, I'd recommend it to other people :D

I think one of the first posts in this community has links where you can download subbed versions of all the first season off of megaupload. I think viikii.net also has some episodes. I really recommend it, though you might be surprised by how old and not as hot the actors are, hehe.

Hoenstly, i prefer season 1. I've always said to my friends i think S2 is good if you haven't watched S1. For me S1 is brilliant and have better acting than S2. I also think that the relationship between Yamanobe and Tazaki are deeper than Honma and Kamiyama.

As i already said, if you haven't seen S1, i think S2 is OK to watch. ... S1 Is brilliant 8D

Season 1 was awesome because it was different.

Saying that, it's a tough act to follow. But I liked how they've incorporated the events and characters of season 1 into the storyline. I feel it makes the entire story more complete.
