I recommend the south coast of Portugal. Tons of hot Australian surfers there, so you don`t need to learn another language to get by, one of the cheapest places in Europe, plus you could totally sell your paintings and what-not on the street. Lots of people make their living that way. :) Plus it`s closer to London than Canada is so I could come visit!
