I want to get my hair color to be white, dose anyone have sugestions seeing as my hair retains a yellow quality even after a good bleaching.

or should I just go to a salon?

This is tricky. After bleaching it as light as possible, dye it pale blue, wait a day or two (to let your scalp recover) and bleach it more. The blue ought to wash the yellow out the rest of the way.

If you do try a salon, make sure the hairdresser has pulled off actual white before, or you'll just be a platinum blonde.
