Correction: We do not have a new dog

Gentle readers,

for the record we do not have a new dog. I am sorry that my previous post was confusing. I was trying to be witty and state that because Wombie's arthritis treatment has resulted in a change in her behaviour, it is as if we have a new dog. In fact we still have just one dog, good old Wombie, with her new vigerous ( Read more... )

Your dog doesn't look very old. Is your dog an Australian cattle dog?

Not that particular bread as such, she is not a Blue Heeler. She is part Kelpie and Kelpies are traditionally farm dogs. She is part kelpie, part lab, a little bit of shepheard and anything else you could imagine. She could very well have some Blue Heeler in her. Blue Heelers have a lot of natural white fur sprinkled throughout their coats. Her grey fur gives her a Blue Heeler look. If you think that she could be a Blue Heeler, and interpret the grey hair as her pedigree rather than her age, then she would look a lot younger. See the white patch on her chest? That is the only white fur that she had as a young dog, the rest is age. Her hair used to be all black when I got her (hang on, so was mine) and she looked more Kelpie and less like an Australian Cattle Dog ( ... )
