Today marks the one year anniversay of losing my nephew. Gabe was so little...smaller than Lukey. I remember being in 4th period Math in Society nearing the end of my senior year and getting a call to the office. "we lost gabe" are three hard words to hear. ive heard them before myself. about 6 months back. i wasnt related to the child by blood but im close friends with the parents. a sad sad day.

Those words are very hard to hear. The only advice I have for your friends is to KEEP GOING. My brother and sister's lives were dominated by this tragedy for 18 months. It took an unimaginable toll on their 4 yr old daughter. They will carry the memory forever but they have to CARRY it. They can't stop and sit with it and not move on. The worst part for everyone but the parents, is that sometimes you catch their memory fading away. This entry is quite old, and to go back and read it brings his memory back...but that's a good thing.
