[This...was very strange, as dreams went.

For one thing, more things actually made sense than not. There was a house, though not her own, a floor and doors that worked as expected, and so on. She didn't have her wings, but this was a dream; sometimes she didn't. It didn't trouble her much.

The house was full of odd things; she was upstairs, ( Read more... )

[ Meiling misses flying already, but walking isn't so bad. It's a nice day, too! She's wearing a simple skirt and blouse fitting of the era, in dark colors and with cute stripes. Her hair is tied as it always is and, something she is particularly proud of, she has her hat back! That golden star perched atop the green cap reflects the sunlight as she walks right on past that house.

Smiling, she gives a casual wave -- not really paying much attention to who she is waving at, but more of just a simple "hi! nice day, isn't it?" sort of wave, as she keeps on trucking past~ ]

Hm? [ Meiling turns symbol over to look at it, then at Flandre.

...Oh. I see.

She turns so that she's sitting beside the little one, head next to hers, hand held out in front with the star turned toward the two of them so she can share in that reflection. ] That's you.

...what?

[We're sorry, this vampire seems to have stopped responding.

Please check again in a few minutes.]

[ Blink. ] Um... that's your reflection. [ A tilt of her hand, and there's a head of scarlet hair shown there, with an awkward smile. ] See? And there's Meiling.

[Flandre blinks and draws her head back as far as it will go.

...is there a Flandre hiding behind--no.

She stares at the reflection some more, then at Meiling, and the star again.

Her brain is broke.]

[ ...well, damn. She wasn't expecting this.

Reaching around to the other side of he face, Meiling gently poked Flandre's cheek, hoping that was visible in the reflection. ] See? That's you. That's what you've always looked like to everyone else...

W-well, with your normal clothes, and wings, of course.

[ Then she tips her hand up and ducks her head into the cap. ] This must be very strange to you, but I promise I'll do my best to help you!

[Already weirded out by this tiny version of herself apparently trapped in Meiling's hat, when Meiling touches her face, Flandre responds by instinctually snapping at her finger.

...granted, it doesn't hurt very much, if at all, as her teeth are blunt and round and she lets go almost immediately.

...then she follows the star--and the hat--up onto Meiling's head and the reflection disappears and whatever spell that was seems to break.]

But--

AH! [ She grimaces and pulls the hand back -- but really, she's just glad the finger's still there. ]

I'm sorry. You'll just have to bear with it for some time. If you want, I can take to you home to Miss Patchouli. She's... better at explaining things than I am. [ Understatement of the century, folks. ]

[She still looks SO CONFUSED.]

...am I in trouble?

No. [ Meiling pats her head. ] That's not it. We're just... lost, sort of. All of us.

[ With her other hand, she gestures to the other rows of houses, each one just about a mirror of the next. ] You'll meet all kinds of people here, in the same situation.

[Flandre's demeanor changes almost instantly, leaning up under Meiling's hand insistently and against her side, making little appreciative noises. The little vampire is easily distracted if affection was involved.]

Like who?

Hmm, let's see... I talked to a nice lady who did sketches of a new place that showed up a few weeks ago. Then there was the witch lady that came by and helped out with my pain a few days ago. Apparently that's just sort of what she does! [ A thoughtful hum, still petting Flan. ] Then there's two friends of Miss Patchouli's and--

Oh! Of course. [ Smiling. ] There are even more of us from Gensokyo here! I haven't met them all, but someone was sort of... warning us to be on our good behavior so that means there must be quite a number.

[Flandre's paying attention! Really! ...a little bit.

Her brain has turned into mush again. She chirps, quietly; quite happy exactly where she is thank you very much.

...though she picked the words "witch" and "Gensokyo" out of all that and put them into an out of context sentence anyway.]

Marisa?

[ Meiling shakes her head. ] Ah, no, not her. The witch I met is named Tiffany -- she's not from Gensokyo. The other woman was named Alice -- she had a rather powerful magic book with her.

Oh.

[Though she sounds disappointed, it doesn't sound as great as it would normally be.

Also you should pet her more why aren't you Flan wants peeeets--this would be the vampire's head wiggling up against Meiling's fingers like an affectionate pest.]

[ She can do that! And so... she does. Because she's sort of at a loss. Trying the earlier question again. ] Would you like to see Miss Patchouli? I'm sure she'd want to see you, too. [ A pause. ] We have tea and sweets at our house. [ Not saying she doesn't have them here but she doesn't even know who Flandre is living with, yet.

However, she automatically dislikes the situation, even without that information. ]
