Thank you, dear! I certainly did not believe in myself this much... over the last weeks, when the polls were about to end, I always went to bed sure to wake up out of the contest!

*koff* Whoops-- Gary, if you thought dadi was the oldest winner, then that would make me the oldest winner. We're both 56, but my birthday is about 5 months before hers.

Congrats, Dadi! I had a feeling early on that you might just win it all - and I was right. Great job! I loved reading your work this year. And as someone who knew you before you joined Idol, it’s been a joy to watch you blossom.

Also, it would have been great to have a fellow contestant from this EU time zone to have whinefests about how horrible it was not being able to stay up to see the polls close ;)

This time zone thing certainly makes it hard. I am almost always asleep before polls close or even deadlines. I had so much Idol privilege when I lived in the US lol

I am so happy for you, dadi! Your pieces have been such a delight to read, so thought provoking with a genuine voice and such important messages. There were so many talented writers this season, but you really deserve the crown!
