I suck at pimping myself out, but I'm a special ed teacher, who lives in Houston, TX but is originally from NJ. I have 5 cats. I'm married to a nerd. We got married on super pi day because he is a math teacher nerd and that was the only thing he wanted for our wedding. I love road trips and traveling to national parks. I love taking pictures of my travels when there is no COVID. I write a lot about teaching, life, and post tons of pictures of cats. I love meeting new people.
Hi! I haven't been as active on LJ as of late, but! Getting new friends here always inspires me to write more for a while, so by all means, feel free to add me. I'm 39, I live near Seattle, I'm married to my wife, and we have a son, 2 dogs including a very cute puppy, and a gecko. I am very liberal, creative, mostly atheist pagan person, and I love reading, photography, musing about life, nature, etc. I love animals and used to write about them a ton, because I worked with animals for a long time. These days it's just my pets. Some day I'll be able to volunteer at the zoo again (program is halted due to COVID at the moment). I watch dorky reality tv shows, as well as awesome tv, and listen to podcasts and write about whatever I'm thinking at the moment! So definitely please do feel free to add me. Most of my posts are friends-only, btw. Ok, see you soon! :)
I think the Friending Trickle may have nearly dried up by now, but here goes!
I'm Karen, and I live in Sacramento with my husband (rayaso) and our pathologically extroverted cat. We have two adult children, a daughter who just started law school and a son who will start his senior year of college this Fall but has been back at home with us since March due to the Quarantimes. I sure hope he'll be able to finish SOME part of senior year in a regular college environment, and graduate with something closer to a bang than a whimper, but there's just no way of knowing right now...
I try to post at least once a week on my journal, generally about all sorts of random stuff. Frequently there is humor, even if I happen to be carping about something like being trapped inside the house for weeks due to the neverending heat and smoke outside (*ahem*). I'm generally a low-drama person, and I enjoy all sorts of people.

I live in NYC where I work in a college, running a tutoring center and teaching.
Under normal circumstances, I go to museums a lot (I'm a member of twenty). They have just started reopening, so I'll be starting that up again.
I am a linguists, and I love history.
I'm back in grad school, getting another Master's degree.
I need to post more: lately, it's once or twice a week.
