Green Room - Week 2 - Day 3

Feb 16, 2022 21:05

The last couple of weeks have been insane. Literally. I had them locked up in Arkham Asylum, but they escaped.

The new prompt is up https://therealljidol.livejournal.com/1176294.html

How is life going for you right now?

3 strikes, green room, week 2, day 03

Oooh, evening green room! This suits my availability much better than morning ones!

Life is pretty good. Got my entry in already, and I'm beginning to feel like this could be a season like when I wrote a bunch of things that ended up being expanded into a novel. I didn't go into this game this year with that in mind, but then I got bitten by an idea so I'm looking forward to seeing how it grows.

My kids keep bailing on me for things I want to do with them, which can be a challenge sometimes. XD But at least it gives me plenty of time to indulge in my own solo hobbies too.

Life is pretty good overall, thanks for asking. I got my piece posted up today and started reading ahead. I find I check email more often when Idol is in session - I’m probably not the only one who does that, right? Right??

Today a manager messaged to say they had a "non work related but work related" thing to discuss with me, then NEVER FOLLOWED UP ON IT even after I asked directly later in the day, so I have been idiotically racking my brain by what that could mean and what it bodes.

Struggling with this prompt - wrote something kind of raw tonight, but don't like it, and so will sit on it and keep brainstorming.

Oh, that manager sounds frustrating! I hope he gets back to you about whatever it is.

Raw can be hard to share - it’s the sort of thing that definitely benefits from letting it sit and giving yourself time away to reevaluate it. Still plenty of time left, so it’s good to at least have it in your back pocket.

Life is busy at the moment. I’m commenting from the train, heading home from a heart ultrasound. Good news! The number they were worried about in October is back to normal now. No permanent heart damage from the chemo most likely.

I have ideas for the prompt, and one just hit me while on the train (though a story idea I’ve had for awhile but I wasn’t sure the angle I’d take, but now I know). It’s fiction, the others are nonfiction but likely to be depressing. I said I’d use this season to delve into everything I’ve had to deal with and that I wouldn’t stop myself from being depressing, but there’s still part of me that feels like I have to be positive all of the time.

Gary, are you sure it isn’t US that you’ve locked up in Arkham? Because it is very Arkham-y in my neck of the woods, too. It has been a full moon, though. I don’t always notice an uptick of cray-cray with the full moon, but this month I definitely have. It’s everywhere!

Today was one of those beautiful breezy warm humid spring days in Tallahassee, though, and I love this kind of weather. Very hopeful weather as far as I’m concerned.
