My nightmares came in a trilogy last night. For those of you who don't know, which is probaly everyone heheh, I used to suffer insomnia. For two years I had one hours sleep a night - exactly. Before that I would either have adventure dreams or nightmares, which basically left me exhausted every morning, so I'd set my alarm for a couple of hours before it was time to get up, to get some rest (might sound wierd but there are actually alot of people who can relate to that). It's basically why I started writing when I was little, inspired by my dreams. After my insomnia my dreaming bouts occurred only when my creative moods swung by, I always knew when the dreaming started that yay it was time to start writing again.
But man, those nightmares last night weren't fair! Shagrath how could you do this to me! Okay so explanation - Shagrath is vocalist in a Norwegion Black Metal band Dimmu Borgir - his face is all painted up and stuff, typical black metal style
Dimmu Borgir. I recommend progenies of the great apocolypse if you're looking for a sound sample. He was the villain in my dreams last night. It took place in fairy land, which existed right next to a railway line which coursed through a valley of dense scrub. Oh I also had a little pet, akin to that little fella on Futurama only furrier and more brightly coloured. Well anyway, before I arrived to that little stretch of railway line, I was near an airport - the same one in the previous nights dream where they were doing shark shows except someone didn't realise and jumped in however they managed to get rescued before they were ripped to shreds, and Shagrath and his posy came flying down like vampires to get me. They kinda like, sucked your soul and flesh from you, but you had to give it to them willingly. And their eyes were liquid black, if you could put your finger into their socket i'm sure your finger would have come out oily. And their mouths stretched right down when they opened them and this hideous scream would come out. LOTR wraith style. I can't really remember what happened I just remembered that I (and my pet) ended up at the valley after narrowly escaping them, oooh hang on that's right, this chick gave me a packet of bubble gum, blueberry flavour I think, and Shagrath and his crew had been previously caught and sealed in this packet of bubblegum, so when I opened it up I let them out - and they were after me! Anyway I ended up next to the railway line, and something drew me off to the left where a fat twisted tree stood. I stood amongst the roots and then was suddenly sucked down through the dirt. But there was an underground house there, and a cute little old lady lived there (who I suspect was kind of 'fairy god mother' style) who had magical powers and she put up a barrier so Shagrath and his crew couldn't detect me. My pet also put magical barriers around any seals (ie windows) so none of my 'essence' could seep out and attract this gang. Meanwhile I looked around the house and it was adorable! But I could hear Shagrath and co. flying overhead (they had turned into jetfighters). Back and forth they flew, they knew I was here they just couldn't get to me - I would have to live with this sweet old lady forever, she didn't seem to mind, but I also sensed a darkness to her, like she had conquered some kind of evil in herself that kept wanting to rise up and take over her personality again. Freaked me out but it was better than seeing Shagraths eyes and hearing his scream as he sucked the life from me. (Oh by the way this is the second installment of the dream. I had thought I had escaped and woke up, then fell back asleep only to continue from when I got to the railway line and fell through the dirt.)
So anyway, this old lady made me dinner and I slept uneasily through the night, listening to the roar of Shagraths jet engines. The next morning the little old lady seemed distracted, and I knew I must go face Shagrath - I couldn't live holed up forever. The little old lady sensed what I wanted to do, and gave me a new stick of bubble gum. This, she said, would entrap Shagrath forever, I just had to open it near him.
My little pet unsealed the door of magic, and immediately I heard the screeches of Shagrath and heard him flying closer. I stepped out and appeared beside the tree and walked up to the train lines. I heard the rush of wind to my right and quickly looked to see Shagrath and one of his pals screaming towards me in the air, his mouth already opened hideously wide and his eyes seemed larger than ever. Instead of stopping at me they screamed right by, then turned and hovered there a while, eyeing me. I could feel my blood go icy cold and my heart pounded. The stick of bubble gum seemed useless in my hand as Shagrath came closer, floating eerily and deadening the natural sounds around us.
He grabbed my arm and I could feel my flesh pull towards him, yet though the pull was strong I remembered he still needed my permission. His eyes implored me, hypnotisingly entrancing me. I wanted to just give in and let the horror be over as I felt my fear rise more. I think that is where people usually give in, because Shagrath was mildly shocked as I pulled away from him and stumbled two steps back. His head cocked, like a puppy trying to understand his masters training methods, and he came forward to me and I could feel the hypnotic pull of his inhuman eyes, but something willed me to carry on, not give in and I reached for the tab on my bubble gum packed and pulled it back! Shagrath was horrified as the air around him seemed to tighten and black wisps of his essence began being sucked into the bubblegum packet. Slowly at first, and as his screams rose he disappeared completely and the bubblegum packet sealed itself up again. It was cold in my hand, like someone had put it in the fridge. The silence was gone, and I could heard birds again, as one should when in the bush.
I went back down to see the old lady, who was still going about her daily old lady chores. She was baking bread, heaps of it. When she saw me come in she opened a chute and began putting all the loaves of bread in it. I looked in the chute and saw it was an extremely deep one, and froze things as they hit the bottom. I considered putting the bubble gum stick in there, so no one would ever open it - at least not while I was still alive. There was no way I wanted to meet Shagrath again. I put the bubble gum packet on the table while I thought about it, when two more appeared next to it. Then a lady came in and picked all three up. I tried to get them from her, and she said not to worry that she would lock it up for all of eternity. And she would have one of the other ones to chew on when she went to the cinemas. After she left, I grew frightened in case she forgot which one contained Shagrath. Then my mind went dark and the credits came up and then the previews for the next one came up. Called C3. Why C I don't know. But it's obvious she opened the wrong bloody one up!
Ha ha probaly doesn't sound too scary but it was while you're in it. I was telling Vlad in my half-asleep mode that I couldn't go back to sleep because the 3rd installment would play in my mind, I fell asleep a couple of times and had to force myself awake because I kept seeing the beginning of the 'movie' start heheh oh well time to stop boring everyone.
